Creative Kids Tales Anthology ~ The Deep Dark Forest

Charlie’s Secret is my children’s short story about a young red-haired boy, Charlie, who lives deep in the forest with his Mum and Dad. They work as biologists and study the forest, searching for new and interesting scientific facts. You cannot visit this forest unless you come by air or sea. Charlie’s parents warn him to be careful when he’s out by himself looking for adventure. But one day, Charlie ventures to an area of the forest he has never gone before and he meets some weirdly strange creatures who wear even stranger clothes. However, one of these creatures looks just Charlie! This proves to be very perplexing to the creatures and Charlie. In the end, they become very curious about each other and finally decide Charlie can be trusted. They offer to lead Charlie to a secret place so long as Charlie never tells anyone. This proves a dilemma for Charlie because he knows if his parents found out, they would become world famous. This 500-word story is published in the 2015 Creative Kids Tales ebook anthology Deep Within The Forest, available for free on Smashwords Deep Dark Forest.

Caretta C – A Turtle’s Tale

~ Awarded 3rd place ~

Creative Kids Tales Anthology ~ The Journey

Caretta C – A Turtle’s Tale, is the first children’s short story I created and entered it in my first children’s short story competition. Inspired by friends of mine who are turtle trackers along the Moore Park beach, near Mon Repos, (Bundaberg), I decided to research and write a fictional story about the first voyage home for new mum, Caretta C. Now, at 35 years of age, she’s made her way back to the beach of her birth. It’s a gentle and beautiful story about her journey.

This 500-word story is published in the 2014 Creative Kids Tales ebook anthology The Journey, available for free on Smashwords The Journey.
